Opening back up to fish on Sept. 19. That is Monday. Just some info in case someone needs to know. The weeds are starting to die as well. Fishing till ducks open back up. Not sure exactly, but, should be a couple weeks you can get some gills and bass. GOOD LUCK... GO GET YOU SOME...

According to depth charts max depth is 8-9 foot at the deepest. Average is about 3-4. The gills are massive. A buddy and I went out and caught 2 that he had mounted an 11 and 12 inchers.

looks shallow from satellite view. if it has pike it must have some depth.  thx for the reply.
No real depth, did have some big pike in there. A couple years back had a major kill on the pike there. It is shallow and the water got too warm, pretty much cooked them where they lived. I'm sure there are some biggins left though.

Anyone been fishing there since they opened it back up? I know the weather sux, however, I just took a package of filets from the freezer that are from this time last year. Looking ahead at the weather it looks promising Monday. Hope to get there 1 last time before they close the lake to fishermen till hard water season. Last day to fish is Oct. 9th. So, go get ya sum.

Thinking about going in the afternoon if I'm not busy gutting a deer. Probably drag the boat to the farm I'm only 10 minutes away

Couldn't believe it there was NO WIND today. Don't think there has ever been a time when I fished the slough when there wasn't a howling wind. Kept 23 gills and 1 crappie with 6 over 9 inches.

Nice catch Al how were the weeds

They were still there and mostly alive. I was using a tungsten ice jig and getting on the bottom thru the weeds. That is where the fish came from. Caught more 2 to 3 inch fish yesterday than all the other times I have fished there in my life. Must of had a good hatch this year. Usually I would get all keepers. But, yesterday, I think I caught 3 throw backs to 1 keeper. Lots of dinks.
