Saw the coolest thing yesterday
« on: Sep 27, 2016, 08:11 AM »
Took a quick drive down to a local lake public access I volunteer to keep cleaned of litter. Not a speck of litter. Saw a kid just arrive on his bicycle that couldn't have been in more than third grade. He had his fishing pole and was all geared up for some fishing off the access pier. A little chubby with coke bottle glasses. Just made my heart warm.

Many of us started out that way. You get the bug when you're a kid and it goes from there.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

What's a beer ball?

A large plastic ball of beer.
Had a small tap with an air pump on it to get the ball pressurized so the beer would come out the tap.
They sold them 20-30 years back.
Not sure you can buy them anymore.

Here's a link - ball is inside the box.

Here's a photo of the ball -

We used to use empty ones to make great backyard lights.
A cord and light socket with a 60 watt bulb inside worked well.

I've still got a tap if you need one. HaHa!

They made great buoys, too.   :-\

I bought a lot of Matt's beer in a ball.  8)
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Hmmm… learn something every day. Never heard of it. But then don't really care for beer.

You guys must have good eyes or a better monitor than me. I do see it now that you've pointed it out though.
