Big Cod Memories
« on: Dec 17, 2016, 07:45 AM »
I was scanning a BUCKET full of old family / fishing photos and found a pic that I had been looking for of my PB Cod @ 54lbs on my 60 lb Boga Grip. This fish was one of many in the 45-54 lb range that day. It was landed in late July 2003 and often wonder how many lbs it would weigh during breeding season... It was released and swam away strong, along with all the "big" fish that day...

Nice cod

This makes me remember when my father and a few of his friends used to fish the Rhode Island Breachways in the winter (mid-late 70s).  They used to catch  big cod and I remember the coolers when they came home.  The "secret" lure was a yellow/pink Atom swimmer code named the Ice Cream Cone.
