There lies the rub!
If you ice fish, you want it to linger "for one more week", but once the shores go bad, you want it gone by next week!
I have been lucky enough to find spots that produce right after ice out, and even a potential Striped bass spot, provided the ice has gone.
It's all about options, the more you have, the more you can fish and more you can catch!!!
