Sounds good Chez. I could probably do either- depending on the weekend. But the 2nd and 3rd weekends are already booked for me. I could do the first or 4th.

Too bad I had to get going. Spent 4 hours paddling around the lake before you guys showed up and then the rain came in. I was ok with it until the second storm hit and it just took the wind out of my sails. First lull in the storm and I strapped the kayak down.

Yeah, we got a little wet on Friday! But it was good to get the YAK out on the lake with my Buddy Chez!  8)  (even if I got "schooled"  ::))

Chez tried to help, but even his tips didn't seem to work for me. I did manage to catch the smallest pickerel of my life right before we called it quits! Don't think the thing was even 9"!  ::)

On the way home I stopped at Promised Land to visit a buddy from college that was camping there. Crashed in his tent and got the yak out on the water the next day. Didn't do too much better there, but did manage one small largemouth. But I was the only one of the 3 of us to catch. We did get out on the lake late, though as it took awhile to roll out of the sleeping bags and make breakfast.  ;D

I gotta get the YAK out again this week!

No more talk about the River Float trip from anyone.
I guess it's a done deal.

I can't commit to anything more than getting out for a day. Some time in the next few weeks I got some pavers coming and I don't know when. I can make a trip to the river, but just not an overnight camping trip.

I don't have a kayak but I do have my John Boat and am ready to hit the soft water.  I might go out this coming weekend since we got the short end of the stick for the ice fishing season.   :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

I'm with you - have a 10' jon boat I toss in the truck if I'm going alone, a 14' if I'm bringing someone.   Main reason I prefer the jon is I just like to sit up higher off the water with a shortened pedestal seat & rear mounted trolling motor.   My "cross their eye's" hookset in a kayak also doesn't fare well - almost went unexpectedly swimming - LOL    :o  Hey, it's all good - just different ways to get out there on the water ...
