S'more Cats
« on: Mar 26, 2017, 11:27 AM »
Took advantage of the warmest day in one month to get out for some cats with Chez yesterday. Hit a spot that has been producing some of the steadiest big cat action I have known in forever. It didn't disappoint. Between the two of us we did over 20 and with a few exceptions they were real bruisers. Had to land at least 6 that topped 30 inches. Here is one nice one that Chez landed.

Do you keep them or release them?

Nice pic - thanks.

I let them all go. I tried a couple long ago and didn't like the flavor or the texture. Muddy and rubbery at that size. I have mind to try a couple of the 15 16 inchers the next time I catch a few. I ate some small white cats I caught in a reservoir in NJ years ago and they were fine tasting. Something about the river, though I have never noticed it with river eyes.

River is at a very high level as of today here on the Susquehanna.
It is supose to stay under flood stage after todays rains.
I hope so.

Dont look like we will be getting out for cats for a good week or so.
