Sorry...it's  just a fish. Not like it's endangered or anything.

Personally I'd be more interested in searching that lake for its siblings.

I can understand why they would want to display it. Just hope it is temporary, maybe a couple months or for the summer and then return it to the lake to be caught and/or spawn in the future!

how could it be a state record if it was netted by the DNR?  thats a stupid idea!!!  not to mention totally unfair to all the anglers in that state.  not really a surprise though from a government agency.

It says right in the article it is NOT a state record. Probably why the title of this thread is "Record size Black Crappie.................."  ;)
