Chu's becoming friendly again
« on: Apr 27, 2017, 09:54 PM »
A rough start to the Chu season seems to be turning around. Although still nothing on metals  :-\. The bait has been working. 1 fish landed this afternoon on 2 runs. 1st fish broke off on the hook set. Braid must of had a bad spot. To bad it was taking line off the bait runner pretty good. Weather was perfect. Water as you can see still very high. Freddy also landed a nice one bigger than mine but as I was getting the phone ready for the picture. The fish had a better idea and slipped from his hands and swam away. I'd guess it topped 4lbs.
I fish every chance I get and enjoy every time I fish. They call it fishing not catchin

Boats already to go. Just waiting for that 50 degree water temp. I know they are picking away at some right now. Jason Colby launched yesterday for the season and picked up 7 or so mostly smalls. Won't be long.

By the way Dick. Your in box is full. Tried to send you a PM

I have a riptide with ipilot sitting at home that will be very helpful for flattie action.  Where do you guys launch Jeff?

Winthrop Town launch. $5.00 a day to launch. Puts you right out in the Harbor in minutes. Easy in easy out. No tide worries.

I was there yesterday and while the water was high it seemed to be much lower then last week. I was actually able to walk a decent amount of shore where as the past weeks I've been walking the bluffs. I've refused to drag bait down there and have only had two small Lakers  in 6 trips or so. Both on blue holographic krocs. Oh and nice fish!!

No dock. But there is a beach area you can pull the boat up onto.
