Couple Nice Browns
« on: Jul 01, 2017, 06:55 PM »
This is the first year my brother and I have fished lead core. Rigged an old saltwater reel up, got the canoe ready, and headed out. Got these two 3.5 colors down. Guessing around 3lbs. What do you guys think?

Beautiful browns!  As plump as they are I'll bet that lake has even bigger ones.

Does that lake have smelt for forage?

The reason I ask is we used to have a lake chain here that had smelt and cisco and produced browns to 15 pounds. The state planted togue and they seemed to have wiped out the smelt and cisco. Trying to get them to allow us to replant smelt from a source in Maine but they refuse.
