This came from Crystal Lake Connecticut in a lake that has a coldwater forage base (I believe alewives and smelt?)

If only we could get a approval from the INDNR to replant smelt from a health tested approved source. Keep in mind the Oliver Lake chain is almost 3 X the size of Crystal Lake and a larger brown trout of 15 pounds was found floating dead of natural causes in Oliver several decades ago. (INDNR source).

Maybe Iowaaccord66 can fill us in with some details of this fish? It's said to be of the Seeforellen strain of brown trout which is a brown trout strain originally from the large lakes of Bavaria, Germany. Says the guy released it!
