Mohawk River lock 7/8

Anyone fishing,? Waters been dirty and high now today River dropped at least 4 feet what the ?..???

some times they drop the water to work on lock

Fished lock 8 Tuesday night and it was ripping with tons of debris in the water. Landed a small SMB, a rockie, a hammer handle pike and a tiny walleye. Hits came in a flurry once I got there then completely died off. Seems to be a trend. Water looked way down when I drove by yesterday but havnt been back.

Fished below Lock 7 on Saturday (7/22).  Got three Smallmouth, three Catfish and three short Walleye.

try above the lock[7] with a orange/brown tube under a bobber
start at about one foot under bobber if no hits after about 1/2 hr.
drop to 2ft under bobber-etc. you have to find where in the water
column the crappies are holding

Was down below 7 the other day water was chocolate milk if I get a few mins tomorrow I’ll take a cruise around ....still debating on one last ice trip 🤦🏼‍♂️
