Stream Pike?
« on: Jul 19, 2017, 06:42 PM »
Saw the recent post with the nice pike. 8)  I thought pike fishing wasn't good in the summer.

What is a good time for year, and does it matter if it is a stream or lake? as I am planning on fishing a stream.

thanks

I don't think you'll have much luck in streams (at least not what I would call a stream) but rivers yes. From what I've read and a little experience, They are easier to target before it gets too warm and the vegetation gets too thick. Then they start to go deeper and you need to find the deeper weed beds or a steep drop by some weeds/cover.

big pike are like musky. they go deep after the panfish when the water warms. you see big schools on the fish finder chances are the big boys are with them. jigging big tubes will get them. good luck!

Ha Ha

On a serious note she has been putting you to shame as of late as far as fishing goes. She passed her hunters safety course too so I guess she will have to show you up bird hunting as well.  :whistling:

She should talk to my father also.  He needs a lot of help.

Imagine teampar and my father fishing together.  Everything would be safe ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
