A good Ditch morning
« on: Jul 23, 2017, 08:48 PM »
Hit the canal this morning to take advantage of the recent hot bite. And it did not disappoint. Fished 3:30am until about 8:00am. 3 fish in all so it was a good morning.

I fish every chance I get and enjoy every time I fish. They call it fishing not catchin

That day light was just after the sunrise and dead low. It was dark when I started fishing ;)

I figure as much Jeff.  Dave sent me a pic of the crowds same day and was joking about the numbers of people down there.  I avoid it.  Give me darkness and eels this time of year.

Crowds were insane. We tried to park on the mainland side at the Sag. 3:00am lot was full and both sides of the road leading into the lot was full. went back to cape side. This time of year between the races and fishing got to take what I can LOL. I'll be eel slinging in Boston Harbor soon ;D ;D

The internet has changed the place a bit.  For me, not for the worse most of the time.  Back 10 or so years ago the place was busy at times but it was only after a sustained blitz...or say a week of solid mornings.  Now if there is a solid morning, the next is slammed.  Funny thing is if the bite doesnt happen by 7-8 the place empties.  Seems to me on any given night you have all the space you want.

We need to hit it together sometime soon.  I have a neat rig to get a lice eel half way and deep!

One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in awell preserved body; but rather to skid in side ways totally worn out shouting (holy sh*t)  WHAT A RIDE! FISH ON!.
