Camping vacation
« on: Aug 03, 2017, 05:20 PM »
My wife, daughter and 9 other people camped on Big beaver island upper richardson lake.We stayed for six days. It was remote but we didn't rough it.My buddy brought a 4 burner cast iron griddle and camp kitchen. Many awesome meals were cooked along with fresh salmon and brook trout. The fishing was a little slow but managed a few  fish each trip out.
Only Ben would fish with me, my family doesn't like to troll fish! They are content with ripping fall fish lips from shore.
This is my first attempt on posting from imgur.

Nice to see your still at it! Looks like it was fun for the whole family. That 16" salmon looked nice and healthy, so do those brookies, congrats on the successful vacation.

Looks like a fun vacation. Thanks for sharing. I'm using postimage now for pics. Simplest I've seen.

I miss Maine.  Wife and I will be there for a week the first week of October.  I can't wait! Not sure where yet, but definitely will have to be on a south region lake or pond, and we're not OOB people.
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Great post Wayne. I've camped there several times, I love that spot.
You had a bigger group than I did and it looks like you had a blast.
Now you've got to get back to the stripers. ;D

I checked out the pics Wayne, looks like an awesome time! You guys did well. I hadn't been up there all year and your post triggered a road trip Saturday. Had the lake pretty much to ourselves, I think peeps were worried about the weather? Fished 6A to 1130A, good 2-3 chop above the narrows, we boogied and it just started to rain with thunder clouds rolling in. We landed 5 salmon, 5 brookies. Gard got a nice 20" jumper, good specimen for Richardson.15' was the number. Thanks for getting me motivated! Of course I would have posted pictures but I'm still under a 1000 words. Brookies and Salmon were all beauties and the scenery is spectacular!

Gary it sounds like you hit it right.10 fish for August is a good outing. A 20" salmon is good for there. It is truly a beautiful place to unwind and catch fish.
