Here are two salmon we got this morning. Hot bite until 730 then it died. We got four salmon in the boat and lost another right behind the boat. Awesome morning!

Nice fish! We spent the first part of the day jigging and trolling for lakers before targeting salmon...I guess that was our mistake, but it felt like we snagged and lost some salmon on the retrieve.

Better luck on leadcore or DR's? I also tried to stick to smaller fly patterns instead of my normal db's and wobblers.

My buddy pulled up 5 Monday morning all jigging with a Vexilar. Interestingly my Humminbird Ice 35 was useless...side by side comparison was no contest. I caught mine on new downrigger, smaller spoon, winding up from 50 ft I think.

The copper Mooselook "winni" with an eye glued on got the most hits. Can't speak for the salmon though. Here's a pic of the lure still on a little guy...got it at Walmart

Good machine.  I have a FL20 but it costs more just for the 12 ft. zoom.  rarely use the 12 ft. zoom?

I was going to buy one just to get my buddy on the lakers for once. He bailed and the wind was too high for jigging. I'll wait.

Both solid machines.  Zoom has its time and place.  Ive rocked the flx28 past few seasons but havent used it in open water.  Soon!

Also at some point Id like to learn what a pork pie hat is!    :D

??   Vexilar FL 18   $380
                FL 20   $500
FL 28   $780 (buy two and save $14)
I'm just hoping my old FL 20 outlives me?
Was a little shocked to find out that all of them are made in Japan?

The surface temps were down into the high 60s but they seemed to have went back up after the warmth last week. Sunday was surface temp 70-71 which is pretty high still, mid summer it was almost 80! They are definitely feeding continuously now though. I took my buddy out Sunday and he landed a pig within the first 10 minutes...Knew it was big so immediately stopped the boat, he cranked him in fast, attempted to make one run upon seeing the boat with a deadly head shake and open mouth then swam straight to the boat and got netted. This guy definitely would have been the lost story if he didnt get him in quick. Nice clean hook right on the tongue with a pretty unorthodox presentation. This is the only football I watched on Sunday.. We took the late shift too and he didnt hook him until 10:15 am at least and quickly released him. 20 ft down over 50 FOW.

Nice big female.
