« on: Nov 16, 2005, 07:57 AM »
call me crazy but, over the week-end i seen about a 10-15# brood salmon eat a black water snake.. the fish followed it in from the depths then slammed it on shore! it was amazing!    anyone else see strange things of such?  -moose

I have had small salmon take passes at my strike indicator...my father cleaned a 22" landlock that had a deflated balloon in its stomach

Seeing that fish take that snake must have been awesome.

The float thing is common here too. In fact after seeing some silver hit floats my friend made a dry fly that looked like a bobber and that fly is now my number one dry fly for salmon.
I've never been to heaven, but i have fished  in  Alaska.

all be damed. guess the snake is natural as a worm or minnow...  might have to use them for bait...

Alright, I'll admit it, I used a small snake once, it dropped into my canoe from a boat, so I killed it. I popped a hook through its head, and on the second retrieve got a nice 17 inch bass. Snake got torn up pretty good...

I've heard of landlock salmon with baby bluegills in it's stomach.

seen a big pike grab a few ducklings once and bass loves to attack snakes and eat them.
