They are good to eat anytime, especially thru the ice. What bait do
you use to catch so many thru the ice?
i like using spoons, and swimbaits.  i caught a bunch on a teardrop, and waxworms.  thats what i use for panfish, thats when i usually catch them.  i hole hop, and catch gills and crappie mostly.  thats when i usually catch the bulls.  on the one lake though, i kept getting readings on my vex, id look down into the hole, and the fish would be swimming around the hole, and bumping into the transducer, that happened probably 4 or 5 times.  i probably caught 15 bullhead this winter.  i guess they were brown bullheads.  i played keepaway a few other times.  im looking forward to cathing a bunch this winter, ill try to get a pic of them bumping the transducer.  i hear theyre as good as brown trout.  i cant wait for ice  ;D
