Thats good, I haven't run into many ECO's. Only 2 and they were Ok.  My comment was more in reference to drunken speed boaters.

Got out yesterday for a while. Water temp was 78 degrees. Light breeze and very warm on the water. Looks like some cooler weather on the way. Found a school of active fish but after catching 3 shorts I moved. Did catch 7/8 keepers....h2l

I'll be headed up there at the end of September for a few days looking mostly for bass, as this will be my first time ever fishing Sacandaga I was just wondering if there was anything important I should know about the lake?

Water level will drop down to the point you will not be able to launch your boat, all launches wil be inaccessible by the end of Sept.

There is no way for you to know that. I have fished this lake into mid to late Oct. many years. Deer hunt in the morning and fish the afternoon. The lake is down for this time of year due to lack of rain and they do start to draw it more after Labor Day. I believe the campsite is closing Oct. 7th this year. The other launches are usually open until mid Oct.

It is one of those Wait and See things. If I am unable to get out for the "good" fall bite, you will be the first to know....h2l

I fished it the 3rd. week of Oct. last year,  and could have squeezed a few more days out of it. I'm sure you have been told about the danger on the lake when the water is dropping, there are plenty of spots that will eat your lower unit, slow down and watch your electronics.
I don't fish for bass but we have been catching plenty of them in 22 to 28 FOW. PM. me and I can put you on them.

Thanks for the info guys, I probably should've mentioned that I'll be fishing out of a kayak so launching and lower unit concerns won't be an issue for me. I might PM 1 or 2 of you guys as my trip gets closer thanks in advance for the info.

Nice catch beerbellybob    I fished Saturday afternoon with another MFF member and we boated at least 25 eyes but only 3 were keepers and barely 15" at that.  It was 12" and 13" walleye city.  I did get one nice 18" rainbow on a bucktail tight to bottom which was a total surprise.  He jumped probably 4 feet next to the boat after making some power runs   I kept him for dinner and he had a d**n senko in his stomach.
Friends don't let friends use tipups.
