Trolling for Brook Trout in my pedal kayak.
« on: May 18, 2020, 05:17 PM »
Had an awesome day trolling yesterday. First time Ive caught a fish out of this lake. Ive fished it 2 times prior, with only a few hits. Once I found them, I picked up a handful of quality Native Maine Brook Trout. Sewn smelts did the trick!! Water temp was 38-40D.

Heres the link if interested in checking out the footage!!

Nice video and quality trout. Do your legs ever get tired? I don't think I could go more then a couple hours pedalling.  Must have to pick ur days wisely to be on what looks like a bigger lake. Tight lines. Keep up the videos...very enjoyable.

Thanks gentleman! It was a great day on the water!! And my legs don’t get tired as long as I stay under 2mph. My back gets tight after sitting for more than 4 hours. I trolled for 7 hours in this one, and I had to stretch after. And I pick my days when i want to troll in the kayak! This was a large lake, gets 5ft waves on windy days.

Too easy

I have seen quite a few guys using those peddle kayaks on my lake for bass, quite a little following it seems.

Cool beans! Thanks for sharing!

I found my peddle kayak the cat's meow for night fishing with surface plugs for largemouth and smallmouth bass in Maine last summer. Very stealthy.

I found using the down rigger I mounted on it awkward though.

I'll take autopilot and cruise control for trolling, personally. But I would love a kayak for bass fishing.

Yeah, iPilot is the bomb for trolling, no doubt.
