Insane handicaps and tournamnets??????
« on: Jun 22, 2006, 10:08 AM »
I play in a once a month league at several different courses over the summer. Everyone has a usga handi and we call in scores. Most guys are about 20ish, I float from 15-19.
Usually a net score of 65-69 will win a tournament.
We play best three scores out of four tournament scores win the overall.

Last week we had several guys with handicaps from 28-31 ::) and they play once a week?
I play about once to twice a monthonce school ends and I start my summer job.

The once guy won with a 94 net score at 62? He know has up to 4-8 stroke that carry over to his overall..
The guy with a 30.5 took second and won a skin :o if ya get about 2 stroke a hole are you winning a skin on a par 4or5?

I called em all out during the awards, and there was little responce from them.

WHAT CAN YA DO, any suggestions? I do not want to quit, be I will not be paying my league dues and will just get into longest, closets and skins?
Internet heros give it a rest!

Nothing you can do with CHEATERS like that :-\. Every club has them and never do they give a dang that it upsets you. Just a crappy deal >:(

Yep, thats how it work's. It's all about the money for some people. The only thing you can do is get better and play in the gross tourny's. Trust me, there's so sandbaggin in gross ;)

I still have never understood or seen the need for "handicaps".   ???  Golf in my mind is meant to be a straight score and you're either better than the other person or you're not.  Simple as that and if you're not better then practice more and don't rely on getting strokes to be equal to somebody else.

Usually guys with his attitude are really good I am a 13 handicap at the moment and am glad to have a handicap when playing against guys that regularly shoot 75-77 ;D

We had our annual Callutta tourney this past weekend. My brother is a 24 and his partner was an 8. My bro shot 92 and his partner shot 72 in a best ball format and they ended up at -16. They won and my cartell bought their team (for $274) The partner didn't buy his 1/4 back and we ended up with 1040 bucks apiece  ;D ;D ;D
