Stone Lake Tuesday
« on: Nov 04, 2020, 09:44 AM »
Decided to give gills a try on Stone Lake  yesterday. Beautiful sunny day. Got there about 10:00 am and not a car in parking lot? Wind was about ten mph. Started throwing a wet fly with fly rod. Caught two right off the bat about 7" in about 4 feet
of water. Nothing more for next 30 minutes. Decided to try 1/32 oz jig with gulp. Wind picked up to about 20 mph with higher gusts and beautiful white caps. Fought it until 1:30 and called it quits. Good to get out!

I went to the lake's that I have been getting limits(Michigan) in33-42 fow yesterday.  Motored out to the spot i have been fishing and marked fish like crazy.  Dropped down and couldn't get a single bite.  The fish were everywhere and never got a bite for 2 hours.  Finally caught a crappy.  Ended up with 2 crappy and 2 gills.  Released back in the lake.  Something was going on, very unusual.

That is bizarre!? I guess that's why they call it fishing? But strange they would turn off like that?
