I bet he meant fridge. I used trout worms jiggin ice fishing and was to lazy to take the sled out of my truck. Had a solid puck of dirt and worms. They were all dead but still worked to tip the jig.

no i ment freezer its not pluged in i fliped it on its back sealed all the edges and filled it with water for a bait tank it hold shinners in the winter  but in the summer im woundering if it would work for worms its big i have like 75 gallons of water in it right now half full i wanna empty it and fill it with compost and leaves and have like 500 to 1000 nightcrawlers

I find its like catching your own shiners. If you have a good spot to collect them why buy? I keep a few dozen in a large tub with damp newspaper, grass clippings and very little soil. Keeping them as cold as can be withouth freezing is best. They can last quite a long time this way.

As far as shiners go . . . look into getting a used barrel.
