Fish of the day was Cod
« on: Aug 24, 2014, 06:32 PM »
With the striper action in and around Boston being no existant to very spotty at best. Today we decided to put some fish in the freezer and on the table. Headed out with Frank and Steve on Frank's boat today to find the cod. We had to hunt and search but ended up doing pretty well. Put about 23 or so keepers in the cooler and had a lot of shorts. Plenty on small harbor pollack around too. An occasional sea robin mixed in and even a hake. Seas weren't to bad but some good swells did roll in every now and then. Saw a small school of something pushing up some bait fish but the school dissapeard as fast as it appeard. Had the spinning rod with me and some pluggs but never saw anything to really throw to. A good day though and I had fresh cod for dinner.

Early on in the day.

End of the day.

  • If it was easy they would call it catching.

I think your gonna need a bigger boat Jeff.   Nice fish!  Some good eatin there. Now you need a vacuum sealer.
