Can someone clarify what the borders are regarding the reservation in that section of the catt?  I too like to fish with my kayak near those train tracks, but I am not 100% sure when I might be on reservation territory....

Thanks,

Phil

This really won't help you much -

My point is that you could be challenged at any time on whether you are fishing on their lands.
Stay to the NY side, or get a rez fishing license.

I really doubt they will swim out to get you.
However, if you are standing on the bank on their side...………

Good luck.

I KNEW where the line was on kinzua and I went fishing on the ice a few years back, just had my p.a. license..
I always get reservation license but not typically until may..
2 SNI conservation guys walked out..
Come to find out I was WAY OFF on the line.. They allowed us to pick our gear up and move with NO RAMIFICATIONS AT ALL!! Simce that year, I buy my reservation license every year as soon as it expires...
My point... just because YOU THINK you know where the line is doesnt mean you truly do!
Every year I get my NY, reservation, and P.A. licenses(might start to add ohio)

And Canada John

I hear ya bud.
I have been fishing kinzua on and since the mid 70’s.  Had my camper down there for 3 yrs in early 2000’s.
I have never even been checked.
But I know others that have been.
Also know a guy that had his boat taken back in early 80’s.  He played hell getting it back.

I do.
Have been doing it for almost 20 yrs.
Guys were down there last Friday night fishing for them.
It's a tad early.
Begins to get good mid to late April when they come in from the lake.
I like June because the weather is typically nicer to sit on the bank.
I like leaches because I'll get an occasional smallie or walleye.
But the darn small panfish don't typically mess with it and strip the hook.

Have fun.

Still trying to get get some steelies, waay early in my view for cats. Caught up to 4th of July w.e. down there. Been slow the last few years. Everyones got their own special bait. I like minnows and leeches myself. Occasionally get a nice smallie!
Wonder if them boys were walter fishing?? They gotta be spawning.
Internet heros give it a rest!

Doubt it Rich.
Walleye is closed.
They had 2-3 rods each, on V sticks.
And were starting a fire.

Not saying they weren't looking to catch any walleyes, just not officially.
Also, they were on the rez side...……….soooo...……..why weren't they using dynamite?

My daughter and I went to the neighbors pond today to use up some wax worms left over from ice fishing and she landed this nice cat. She needed some assistance keeping the rod tip up but was able to get it to shore. It was a nice surprise.
