Thankful for Steel
« on: Nov 25, 2023, 12:58 PM »
Finally took some time off for a fishing trip the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Me and 5 friends spent a few days up in Altmar fishing the salmon river. I had the most productive trip in the 10ish years I’ve been going.

First day started out like prior years w me not touching a fish. Sadly, I tend to be the guide and put my friend on a really fat steelhead. Looked like it ate a bunker w the it’s belly.

Seemed like the morning was the strongest bite window so the next few days we got up early and it paid off.  I ended up landing 6 steelhead w a few of them being landed successfully solo w no net. I broke off or shook off countless others. The weather, company and fishing was all great. Many laughs and stories to be told.

Nice report.  Thanks for posting.  Great pics too.  Makes me want to go back, it's been a while.  Held on to all my gear though.
