Dots,
I have those charcoal baskets that came with mine. I have never used them. Not sure I ever will.
I love mine.
I have only 1 complaint...well actually 2...
The ash pan is a pain in the ASH to get off and back on and the bolts that go through for the lid holder make the grate tricky to get back on when the charcoal is searing your hair off you hands and arms..
Other than that you can’t beat those grills...and I can overlook the misses to have a durable charcoal cooking machine. I use mine 4-5 times a week and sometimes 7 days a week.
I will roger that.

Yup John, my wife loves it ,I'll finish in foil to keep moister in ,will take all day while loading Grady to put at Barcelona Sunday!
Yea that's how I do mine too
A 7lb brisket would take me around 11-12 hrs
Let me know if you need any help getting Grady in the water

does yours have the 2 charcoal baskets on either side, an yes I got the chimney 😜

Yes but I rarely use them any more. I just dump whatever coals I'm using on the back side and cook mostly off direct heat. After all....that's BBQ!

Let us know when you pop for the rotisserie setup. I'll have to take some pics of the modifications I've made to mine.
I can use it for rotisserie or elevated grilling of large batches of foods like wings and ribs.

The thing is a cooking machine!

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Dots,
It was my Christmas present from the wife, so I didn’t have to worry about $$$. Although I paid for it one way or the other...LOL!!
We have the rotisserie at camp here and we have done all sorts of things on it! Prime ribs...chickens...turkey...it’s awesome, but pricey!!

I started looking at the accessories already lol. Really like the wok, and pizza stone. Do you prefer the briquettes to the lump? I've been using the lump for the last couple years.

I've never had one before, but I might give it a whirl. And good wife!

Lump is great for hot dogs, sausage , steaks or chops. You can do the same with briquettes and cook your veggies too. Just a little different timing. I use briquettes foe everything.

Lump is a much hotter cook. Tough in a kettle grill. Not good for anything you want to cook in Weber, except quick sear meats.

Pan fried some of our asparagus for dinner.

Never tried that before, but, it was really good!
