I use down-riggers when trolling for trout in the spring, and walleye and hybrid striped bass in the summer. Speeds will vary from 1.5 to 3.5 mph and I usually use minnow style crankbaits.

I troll lakers utilizing spoons, cowbells, peanuts, dodgers, and squids.
For the browns and walleye:  Spoons and plugs
For the kings:  spoons, dodgers, flashers, cut bait, squids and sometimes plugs

Downrigger fanatic! ;D  Troll salmon, char, lakers, and trout.  From 4 mph down to 1.5 mph. 12 lb. balls to 8 lb. balls depending on tides.

Fishguts:  I buy my peanuts at Henchen's Marina in Henderson Harbor.  I also believe All Seasons Sports and Fat Nancy's carries them in Pulaski, NY.  If you can't find them locally, check the net, I'm sure somebody must sell them (maybe fish307?).  If you don't have any luck, let me know and I could pick some up for you and mail them.
