OK, so I have been without a laptop so I have been slacking on the pictures...   But now I got it back its time for pictures...
Starting out with spring trip...   Rain and wind every day we were there...  Even had a good hail storm and snow for the ride home...

     If you look back through my other picture threads you will see a lot of brookie pictures from that swampy looking  area.... ;D   Even a 3 ponder or 2..... ;D
The "togue" were all small this year...  Biggest was 20 1/2"   .. >:(   But if you have a line in the water you will have one on in 15 minutes.......

sweet, i forgot it's not just up here (maine) that has prime brookie waters, guessing there must be some feeder streams/inlets/outlets where you were fishing to support spawning? & 20" togue (you must call em lakers huh) is not bad at all.. i would love to hook those on light tackle, you use live bait for em on shore? smelts on floats? artificials? very cool either way, most people i know troll for togue not cast for em. very cool to see your success casting for em

 Sunday July 6th..
After working all day on a Sunday I got out and grabbed the gear and Herb and I hit a little lake for some top water action...   It was a Scum Frog evening....

   I love getting off the bass boat (now and then) and throwing the row boat in a state land pond a couple hours before dark and just cast top waters..... ;D

SCUM FROGS RULE!! Cheap and...very effective!! Great pics Dom!! I have been known to throw the white frog on very sunny, clear days.... :whistling:

99% of the time I use that green one... 1% I will try the black.... ;)

Them darn green frogs have never caught me a fish! I've always used white ones and had my best luck. Same thing with toads, I have tons of natural colored one but I always end up using the white Stanley ribbit or zoom horny toad

Dom, i go with black frogs at night or during dark weather (gives them a silouette to pick out).   White frogs if I'm fishing very heavy cover <chestnuts, slop> or if its raining(white is the easiest color for fish to see in those conditions).   If its sunny, I like greens with flake in them (the sun makes the flakes glimmer which the bass love!).   I also use horny toads 95% of the time.   They have the BEST hookup ratio of any frog.

You ever try the z man pop frogZ?  It's a toad with a popper mouth and it's also made of elaztech so it floats so you can leave it in the strike zone longer. Wicked good action and it has a great hook up ratio

      I do have a few white ones but never thought to use them..But I will next time... Always just tie on a green one and start fishing...
 My buddy Herb was using horny toads and spro frogs and I out fished him and never changed my lure...    ;D

7/20  Tried a new spot for some evening top water bassin...It was strange this "pond" had a lot of weeds but no lily pads..  Pretty slow fishing...    >:(

I was going through an SD card out of my dads trail cam and came across 2 great pictures..
My moms peacock out fanning a big (wild) tom turkey...  I bet that tom didnt know what to think... ;D

Great looking fish and scenery photos  Raquettedacke, it looks a great season so-far. :)

I also though the peacock fanning in front of the wild tom turkey was a great shot. 8)
I use to have peafowl myself and it was nice to see one fanning again.

8/9/14 ..Oxbow Lake Tournament...
 
It was a beautiful morning..  By time we got to the lake it was 48* and foggy....  We caught fish all day and were culling bass by 10:30 which on this lake is good..  Its a really small lake and there were 44 teams this year....  We only had 8.70 pounds..   >:( The winning team had 16 pounds even...  They had 2 fish that were awesome..  One was 6.02 pounds and the other was 5.75 pounds......  We tied for 5th place...   Its a great day with chicken bbq and bands..  I look forward to it every year.....
