In the DITCH your standing near ::) ::) ::) I'd say brown ::) Poor pics make it impossible to ID . NY stocks two different strains of brown trout I think one is the german brown and the other is a seaforellen ( sp ?? ) which has very sparse spotting and grown somewhat larger but I could be wrong.

HMMM going to have to dig a little and get some research done.

If you look at the fin on the belly of the first pic you can see that there is a white stripe on the edge of it.  I think this is only comon in trout.  I would guess that its a brown trout of some strain.

I'm betting it's a Rome Strain brown trout. I'm going by the white edged fin, never seen an Atlantic/LL with white edged fins.

Brownie, no doubt...

The first few Browns that I caught from the Rondout Reservoir in the Catskills looked just like it...  They are the "Seeforellen" trout that are mentioned above by Dull Hooks.

They grow rediculously big (20lb Browns are not unusual in the NYC Water Supplies- but some 15lb fish are only 25" long!  Fatties!

I thought they were 'escapee' Landlockers from the Neversink Reservoir...  But after awhile I realized that they were just fat Browns without so much coloring as normal.

No doubt that yours is the same.  Good looking fish- but it's hard to beat the beauty of the butter-colored bad boys when they are all bright and yellowish...

Don't use your sick days when you are sick use them when the fish are biting. It all looks the same on your time card
