I would almost bet they closed the gates to help the hatchery. They did that 4 years ago with the low water.

They normally don't close them until we get into April but we don't normally have water this low combined with no snow on tug hill.

I would have to agree with Reeleyz. More water flow means more oxygenated water which is what their looking for.

I think they keep them open to help people who reside on beach rd...usually this time of year they have bluegill in their basements...(not really so please don't correct)  ;D
think your on it reeleyez..Def going to help with less moving out, slow it down helps with warm up
