I got out a couple times this weekend.
Yesterday, I fished the South Branch, from Cheshire Harbor to a little below Elm Rock.
Mostly sunny, 62 degrees. A beautiful day.
Unfortunately, the water level was higher than I prefer. Not roaring, but going at a pretty good clip.
My sole fish of the day was an 8" brown about 50 yards below the Cheshire Harbor dam.
I also tried a few brooks, but, oddly, their water levels remained quite low, and I didn't have so much as a nibble.
Today, I gave Fish Pond (a/k/a Windsor Lake) in North Adams a whirl.
Cloudy, and a little cooler (58 degrees). But the fishing was a pleasant surprise.
I landed three big sunfish, two 11" browns and an 11" bass.
I also ran into Manitron, and we chatted for awhile.
Then I fished the North Hoosic below the Eclipse Mill dam and caught a 14" brown.
