Lake Erie Shiner

The Lake Erie Shiner non-throat verson

I found this pattern online and tied a half dozen.  Lots of olive and flash.

Hook: Size 4 Tiemco Streamer 6x
Thread: Olive 8/0
Body: Olive floss (even) with Pearl Mylar over wrapped and coated with clear nail polish 2x
Belly: Sparse white bucktail
Wing: (from bottom to top) Olive bucktail, 4 strands krystal flash, brownish olive bucktail

Tips: Tie a bunch of bodies up first so they may dry before tying the bucktail in.  Trim the butt ends of the bucktail to help form the head.  Head is coated with clear nail polish 2x before eye is painted to build a smooth base for the eye.

Live free or die trying.
