i have fished the new paltz area for years never the area where you are where i fish there are a lot of small mouth bass and channel cats rock bass and good panfish and lots of big carp be very care full when the water is high in the spring it can be real dangerous

I have always waded the Wallkill for smallmouths, a 2" floating rapala, black/silver works well. Overcast or drizzly days seem to be the best.
