Title: Orionids Meteor Shower
Post by: rgfixit on Oct 21, 2017, 04:00 AM
Anyone else go out to watch the Orionids shower? I was out from 3 to 4:30. Counted 22 streakers and half a dozen pinpoints.

We had a campfire last evening and saw a spectacular streaker. It went almost horizon to horizon and disintegrated with a long, really bright tail.

Pretty cool stuff. Kind of reminds me of how small we really are.

I fish a lot at night and I am always watching the night sky... I have gotten some great shows over the years!

Slept through any thing last night. I will do the same through the rest of it as it is cloudy and will stay that way. Rain guessed for Sunday night.

It was a pretty cool show. We couldn't get a look at the Geminids shower a couple nights ago. All clouded up. It's actually a better one than the Orionids.

Can you see any stars in Tampa with all the light pollution?
