Title: No fish but 2 deer

  If you are a hunter Friday and Saturday were the supposed best days of the year. I got these two within 2 hours on the same stand. They came from opposite directions.  Both 8 pointers, one bigger one in the dark pictures and the smaller I recovered this morning at 6am after letting it sit overnight. Was hit quartering out the lower rear so liver/ kidney shot.

awesome hunt and nice bucks! my season so far has been a bust, worst ive had to date. hope things turn for the better soon. not seeing any rut activity near me yet so hopefully next week

Congrats on that double header.
I wasn't as fortunate on my second one. The next morning when I found it ,the coyotes beat me to it. :(

  FYI,   These are urban deer taken in zone 9 the property measures about 6  acres wide by 10 or so long with houses in line of sight, The guy who rents the shop was crushing cars with a loader within 100yards when I arrowed these two deer...   NO rubs or Scrapes on property, just some very well used trails and a few does that pass through. The strong wind on Friday 20 MPH helped keep my scent away from stand.

Nice , venison in the freezer is always a big plus , and I’m sure your fish will be following shortly

 Believe it or not I do not freeze any fish. I rarely get to the salt so if I have a desire for fresh trout I usually can get a few otherwise I only keep the ones that I give away or eat within a day or two.

I can remember living in Mass as a kid in the late 60's an early 70's and never seeing a deer until I moved to Indiana. Amazing how things change.

Nice bucks James! I shot an 8 pointer on Friday as well that looks exactly like the one in your darker pictures.

 yea looks very nice, mine was 165lbs. the smaller one was 145. shot them within 2 hrs of each other on the same stand same day. Just a great day to be out..

Just got this 235lb 6 pointer the other day along with a doe. Shotgun season is right around the corner as well. Good luck to you all!

 Is that deer dressed at 235?   That's a big deer if it dressed out at 235...

Negative. That was full weight so about 200 - 205 lbs dressed. Been a fantastic year for me. Just took down deer #6 & 7 on sunday. I am calling it quits due to running out of freezers  ;D
