I got about 15 nice crappie (12 inchers), at a small 80 acre lake called cranberry lake while camping in Michigan. Weather was great, fire was hot, and cocktails were cold.

Has anyone been up perching lately?   I tried last weekend and it seemed like I must have  caught all the fish in the big lake already ::)

Sorry, the perch aren't around now. I hope they come later in fall. October, November.

If that is the Cranberry lake northeast of Jones Michigan, I have fished it many times.  It has pretty nice gills in it too.  Pretty decent campgrounds also.

Yes my cousin took out about 25 nice gills 8-9. A lot of 5-6 pound bass as well. Not sure where Jones Michigan is. The cranberry lake campground is old school. Very small beach area, but quiet. Nothing like Yogi bear. This one is in the town of Marcellus. 119 miles from Wheatfield, not a bad drive. Thinking about going again in a few weeks.

Yep that is the one.  There is another little lake real close called Miller lake that has some big bass in it too.  It also has a small campground on it. Very primitive though.  You have to get permission and pay at a farm house to get on.

Probably a dumb question, but if I were to head up to Michigan to fish do I need a Michigan fishing license? I was wondering because I saw a site that said something about some states allowing fishing on their waters with other states' licenses.
If at first you don't succeed, don't go skydiving.

There are no fish in this river.... wait! what the.... I got one!!!

The wifes cousin has a lot there as well. The place is a jungle. Poker runs on weekends are a blast.
