Helping Hand
« on: Oct 09, 2017, 12:49 PM »
I had a father ask me this past weekend (Saturday) if I could point him and his young son towards some fish at Potato Creek S.P. He just wanted his son to catch a fish - didn't matter on size. His son is about 9 or 10 years old. Remember the wind on Saturday. VERY difficult fishing conditions for a seasoned angler.  I did know of a place or two and sent the on their way. On Sunday the two rode up to where I was and the father thanked me for the help. They were able to find some small bluegills, bullheads, a largemouth bass and even a very large carp that broke off near shore.

I do not know who was more excited that he caught fish: the boy?; the father? or me?

If you get a chance to help someone fishing: DO IT. It feels really good.
