I fished the South Hoosic, from just below the Cheshire Harbor dam in Cheshire to a little downstream from Elm Rock in Adams, for an hour this morning.
Cloudy skies, damp, temp around 50. The stream was on the high side, but thankfully not roaring.
The fishing, meanwhile, was better than it has been since the blue bird days of June.
I caught a 9 brookie and then a 13" and a 14" rainbow by the dam.
Then I headed back to my car and drove down to the Old Stone Mill.
I started just above the bridge, and worked my way downstream.
I reeled in an 11" brown just below the Mill, and caught three more rainbows (the biggest about 15") between there and the waterfalls below Elm Rock.
I was starting to get chilly, and it didn't seem likely I would do much better than I already had, so I returned home to spend the rest of the day as a "jammy day."
