I fished the South Hoosic for forty five minutes this morning. Same stretch as last weekend.
It was sunny, blue skies, stream levels normal, and the thermometer read a balmy 39 degrees.
However, but it felt a lot colder, and Mother Nature must not have gotten the memo either, because I saw a fair number of stalactite-style icicles arrayed like church organ pipes along the banks.
Unlike last weekend, I only had a single strike and catch - - a 12 inch rainbow that I landed below the small waterfall just downstream from Elm Rock.
At that point, my tootsies were getting cold, so I reeled in my line and headed back to my car.
