Hit The Conn. River Last Night
« on: Jul 16, 2018, 08:02 AM »
Fishing alone and with the possible showers last night I hit Conn. River in the Turner Falls area hoping for smallies and walleye on topwater. The smallies were hitting well and I did have some hits from the walleye, but no hookups on the walleye. With one photo worthy smallie and lots of dramatic hits and misses it was a great night. I am sure I would have done even better but the water from the dams became a trickle and the action shut off...

I go over the CT river every morning and can't believe how low it is already.   We really need some rain.  The freestones are already almost unfishable for trout.  That typically doesn't happen until at least August.

Nice smallie.

Yeah - I could use some rain as well to get some shrooms to pop up.
