took these pics of northerns running upstream to spawn on conesus lake in newyork.
seen a couple hundred pike in 1/4 mile stretch with fish up around the 20 lb range.the fish were so close we could almost pet them.

Those are some great pics!!!! I have never seen anything quite like that aside from the salmon run. How far do they travel up that stream?

they run up the inlet about a mile or so (not sure) then they leap over the spill way into a large swamp area to spawn
in 2 weeks or so the walleye spawning run will follow with thousands of walleye crowding the stream-some of the fish are over 10 pounds

I had yet to see any pictures of that sort. Those are some great shots you got yourself there. It must have been cool to be able to watch all those Pike go up the stream like that to spawn.

Excellent pictures you have put together for all of us to see and lust over. Hey>>> Where WERE THEY DURING OUR CONESUS DERBY THIS WINTER?????. Hope the photos encourage even more ice fishermen to join in on the Ice Shanty Winter Tourney at Conesus Lake in New York ???

i was able to find one of them during the conesus derby, i believe i gave it to waterwolf for pike chowder! mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Never seen anything like that before except maybe salmon and steelies.. but pike and walleye? That is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
