Donna got the tree up and decorated.
I’m making new LED “monster” Xmas light strands for the front of the house this week.  Stay tuned for pics of those.

In the meantime, here is the tree.

It's an artificial we bought 10+ years ago.
Our house up north was small (975 sq ft), so we looked for one that was narrower so it wouldn't take up the entire living room.
And I insisted it be LED lights.
Wasn't cheap, but in the long run..............

I don't do trees anymore. Too much work putting them up and taking down.  :rotflol:  If I had little kids it would be a different story.

Actually working in retail for several years ruined Christmas for me. Same Christmas songs over and over again 8 hours a day for 3 months straight.  I thought I would go berserk if I heard Grandma got run over by a Reindeer one more time!

I still go out and cut us a nice tree at a local tree farm. My Bride would not be happy with anything but a real tree nor would I. It’s a tradition for us.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

We still do it too as you already know.
The live trees down here aren't as prevalent as up north.
They set up large tents with pre-cut trees for sale.
Big red and white circus tents.
I'm not sure there's anywhere down here where you cut down a tree, although there are a ton of fir trees native to Florida.
Today I'm wiring together some jumbo xmas lights.
they are about 12" tall.
I got them at Home Depot.
They are LED and work off 3 AA batteries (4.5 VDC).
there is a small 6 hr timer board inside too.
So, when you turn them on, they shut off in 6 hrs.
But I want to hang them up high and also don't want to chew thru 3754 batteries in the next month.
So, I bought a 5 VDC power supply and some 20 ga 2 lead wire and are creating a strand I can hang.
I have 10 of these bulbs and will make two strands, each with 5 bulbs.
I'll take photos when I'm finished, and they are up.
This is my project for today........along with the other "normal" strings of lights.

I gave up on the large bulb strings.
WAY too much BS trying to solder two leads of 20 ga wire and one lead of "like" 1000 ga wire to a tiny terminal with 66-year-old eyes and fingers.
On 10 of those large bulbs.
Ended up in far too many obscenities being screamed.
The neighbors now have a true idea of who/what I am.
LOL
 :rotflol: :rotflol: :rotflol:

We got the other lights up.
Did not do the screen room this year as we have windows and a door being installed at some point and didn't want the lights in the way.
I'll take a few photos later when it gets dark and they all turn on; then post them here.

Maybe that’s why Donna kept me around all these years Bob.

Thanks bud!

Here is what we did.
You can see those large bulbs that got the best of me on Donna’s golf cart.
Next year, the sun porch on the right side of the house will get lights.  But we have new windows and a door ordered for it currently.
