Hortonia
« on: Jun 23, 2004, 01:19 PM »
Fished on Saturday 6-19-04 from about 6 p.m. to 9:00 pm.  Caught several bass but none over 14".  Also got a small pike and a few crappie (didn't know they were in there).  This was my first time on Hortonia.  I was suprised how thick the milfoil was, it made it difficult to fish.  Anybody know a good strategy in thick weeds like that???

I saw two beavers while fishing that kept things interesting.

Speaking of Crappie, the new Vermont State record was just caught on Lake Hortonia during the Peabody Ice Fishing Derby, weighed in somewhere around 3 1/4 pounds.
