PS: and easy

When all else fails I always have my favorite spinner bait rigged up and waiting and it never seems to let me down.
-
LOL, I guess when I do these polls, I need to tell everyone what I am talking about. In this case it's the spinnerbait. As Wes said, any situation.

Love to use topwater, even in very rough conditions...
-
i swear by this 1 crankbait..
-
Any silver husky jerk or countdown, never fails...
-
As I have stated before, spinnerbaits are my favorite baits to bass fish with.
There is nothing more fun or exciting.
BUT- plastics usually out-perform them, so that was my vote.

Tube baits on a oldhams jig, it has a awesome weed guard, it indicates strikes and keeps the bait truly weedless. It has a wire loop that hooks over the barb, you can adjust it, by bending it. It you think you had a strike, check the guard and it will let you know. The bait threads onto a spiral scerw near the jig head. You can run tube, twisters, whatever plastics you want.
Best Bass bait I have found for the tight lippers.
If you gotta cover ground then the crank.

Mine is a black and blue jig-in-pig. I use it at every lake. I will not take it off my rod.

I picked picked soft plastics. I can catch bass on a tube jig just about anytime of the year and I just love to feel the tick when a bass picks that tube up :D

brown lizard with a green tail on a keeper hook with no weight

I will have to go with the plastics. You can change your presentation many different ways for different situtions. This year I have started to use a lot more cranks, but my confidence is not there yet...
-
Jeez, I pretty much carry all of them with me and rely on them all depending on the situation, but if I had to only bring one, it would be a plastic worm. They work no matter what the weather conditions area and can be rigged so many different ways and presented in any part of the water column and with just about any speed and be productive. Need a lure for heavy cover? Need something to hop across and through weeds? Need something to fish deep water structure on the bottom? Need something that can be twitched on top? How about suspended fish? Need a lure that you can just pitch out in the river currents and drift it through likely cover? Need something that you can pitch into a likely spot and let it settle to the bottom and leave it motionless and fish will still hit it? Need something that can be flipped or pitched under boat docks? Need something that can imitate a minnow, a frog or a crayfish and worked (with experience) with lifelike motions to trigger strikes?
All of this can all be done with a plastic worm (other soft plastics too really).
That said, if I could only bring one it would make me cry to leave my jig-n-pigs and spinnerbaits home. Plastic worms may not always be as fun and exciting as other lures, but they sure can fill the livewells on any given day!

its a hard choice between three lures for me
4" smoke senko
7" black berkley powerworm
1/2oz black/blue flash rattleback jig with zoom fat albert trailer.
i guess i would pick the worm, for the reasons fat boy highlighted.
-
bass stopper weedless worm- magnum, purple and white
-
love my crankbaits, but you did say any situation for bass so i have to vote plastics for all the reasons fatboy pointed out
-
the sluggo is the only way to go!

The ever reliable Jitterbug !
-
A box full of plastics, you WILL catch fish

Love the Storm Wildeyes!
-
ever get into sum slow bass fishing i just slip the banjo minnow on and im set for the day but took bout yr to learn the techniques so many ways very useful
-
there is only one pond near me with bass in it. Therefore there is a lot of pressure so the fish are really picky. To catch them, I use something nobody else does, kastmaster spoon with just the tail part of a curlytail grub. The fish never see it so get interested and strike.

smithwick suspending rattling rogue in blue. ;D

Sure love cranks, but spinnerbaits seems to be a better go to.

I am with this guy. I have caught so many different species, no to mention some of the biggest of each species with an old fashion twister tail. Got to love em.
