Transporting my canoe

What is the best, cheapest, and easiest way to transport a 16ft canoe with a car. We always seem to have a problem finding a good way

The foam blocks and straps work well. The next choice would be to get a rack, but that's a lot more money.

Go with the foam blocks, they work great and are only 4-7$ each. You should also get the good winch straps, a good set will cost you maybe $25 (canadian) for each strap but they are worth it. Once I bought them I can load up my canoe by myself and be on the road in minutes. No tieing knots or wrapping up access rope. they are great
