Brooklyn Kayak Co? Seems strange. Like the salsa commercial. What does New Yawk City know about kayaks? But yes, the price looks good.
you do know that Manhattan and Staten Island are like.... islands, right? And come to think of it, so is Long Island.... I haven't seen and BKC kayaks but they have some decent reviews. Worth checking out? Probably.
I may be a bit of a brand name snob, but I think for an investment like a fishing kayak, I would stick to the biggies like Old Town, Perception, Hobie, etc. But who knows.
It looks like a native propel 13 knock-off. The pedal drive is similar. One important thing is the warranty. Hopefully one never has to use it, but a strong warranty and good customer service to back it up is key for an expensive kayak. Personally, I'd stick to the named brands if possible, specifically for that reason.I don't know about all manufacturers, but another important thing about the warranty is that it only applies to the original owner. So keep that in mind if you purchase used kayaks. Just look it over with a fine toothed comb for repairs and cracks.
I'm hoping to swing for a used Hobie pedal model for about $1500.00. Just need to pay off my $2500.00 workshop cost first.
I agree with you 100 percent. And as a businessman and American it bothers me a little when the Chinese produce knock offs by copying the hard work and ingenuity of American products. I strongly suspect this Brooklyn kayak is just something imported from China. I'm hoping to swing for a used Hobie pedal model for about $1500.00. Just need to pay off my $2500.00 workshop cost first.
