Even more around this year, kind of surprised, thought the wet weather earlier this summer might have hurt the young. But nope, been seeing plenty of chicks mixed in with the flocks! Woohoo for turkey season

Wow...holy bearded birds. I shot a small one last year and hope to get another this year. It really stinks that the permit is $20.00 tho.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and there go all the good spots.

That kind of takes the challenge out of it. I'm having a hard time paying 20 bucks for a bird I don't want. They should be free with your reg. hunting licence. After taking many turkeys ,I think I'll stick with salmon and deer... 8)

Those are a couple of nice long beards there Bee. Do you guys have allot of turkeys in Maine? Here in Michigan the turkey population has exploded in the last 10 or 15 years. When I was a kid it was really something if you saw a turkey. Now I see turkeys every day and I don't even live up in the north woods.
