while reeling in a 10 inch rockie today off the dock , a big pike took a swipe at it and missed. cant say how long but it was nice and why rank on the guy? ive seen big pike that were floating and when approaching them they swam off. as far as eating a 42 inch pike, to each there own choice.

ive seen a pike do that before. it was 32" long, but really skinny. Went over and netted it, we tried to revive it but wasnt working. When we got it home and cleaned it out we notice that there was a trebble hook barried in its throat.

I bet an officer would not agree with you. Too bad you weren't caught.

He said he "netted it". No mention of taking it legally on hook and line.

ok,whatever!so this fish was also skinny and would not have survived the week.some people obviously have no compassion and are combative-nice life.anyway we got 7walleye,4 keepers.they are starting to hit with the water temps raising.

ok so if a fish is in season and you catch it with a net it is illegal? He didn't snag it, nor did he have a large trap net. Seems if a fish will let you scoop it with a net from a boat it wasn't going to live anyways, so whats the problem?

I've seen Pike doing that a few times, it is weird!   Like some kind of stress response?  Head sticking out of the water; it's almost like they are gathering whatever nutrients from the surface they can get?
