Hey Bee  ..only had a small window but was able to locate 400 or so Crappie
The big one came out of Messalonskee and was a post spawn female the others were all pre -spawn females and we released at least 300   every cast for 3 hrs straight 
I had hoped to match your 17 in Crappie to no avail, better luck next time?
At least I have someone to chase

Next time up maybe we could pitch some shoes...
