Took her out for the maiden voyage today RG. Hit the lake at 8am and trolled until 12:30, hit the driveway just as the first drops hit the windshield.
Four hours of trolling until the rollers just got to hard to navigate by myself. Headed in on two and a half footers, Shes a tank!! Not a drop in either upper or lower Holds either. I'm a happy man...
Oh and caught two small lakers to boot.
Very cool! You're floatin' :clapping:

You would have loved it Trap. I caught two decent rock bass on a downrigger. Speedy shiner's man go get ya some.... ;D. The really cool part is the release went off with a 8" fish.  Gotta love those Black Marine releases.

Almost as funny as you youngins and your dingy's in the trout pond......
My thoughts when I saw the photo went to you learning to fly fish, the back cast, wait, tip rod tip out 20 degrees, load tip and forward...... thwack pssssssstttt and there goes Slyr spinning like a top across the pond...

Man, I thought about it. Thought better of it. 10 years ago I would have done it and ended up paying for it.
A canoe awaits me in the woods up there for a 2.5 day hike and fishing binge. The fly rod will be coming with me finally.
I'll be lurking the heck out of this thread between now and then.

What's a thumb worth, right? ;D

I can't help it, I just like to male stuff. They do have the process down. Nice looking products.

Can I ask you old f--ts for some advice or tips?
I want to try trolling with some streamers on a fly rod for brookies.
Of course fish307 took good care of me. I'm tempted to start  thread about how well they took care of me.
I can only spend so much time in the bait shop before my cell starts blowin' up in my pocket.
Would I be correct to assume first and last light are my best chances at hooking up?
Should I be trolling as slow as I possibly can?
Do I even stand a chance trying to troll a streamer on top after may?
Newbie with a fly here. I'm clueless with these extra long sticks.

perch i  did it  for rainbows  and it worked  but i think trolling  sucks!!!!!  personal  opinion   but to me trolling  is as  exciting as looking at  bridal  magazines! ...a root canal  is less painful ... rather go with my wife  when  she gets her hair done....perhaps  standing in line at the  DMV!!!!  i bet  being stuck in trafffic on a 95 degree day  when broken ac  would  be better .. watching old  golden girls reruns on TV ....  or standing in line  for a free rabies  shot for the  dog ....

did i mention i don't care  for trolling????????
